I'm really confused about how this is allowed.
Also, I'm kind of steamed about it. I wrote a note to the "editor" and am going to patiently await an answer while steaming quietly.

Sorry you steamed, but I am confused about what has you confused.
Aggregating, organizing and linking back to blog posts is pretty standard fare.
Here's how Technorati lists your blog:

Here's how Google's blog search lists your blog:
http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?hl=en&tab=wb&q=Jennifer+Myszkowski&btnG=Search+Blogs
BlogNetNews just organizes things differently -- by location instead of by topic like technorati.
Here's another thing we just started that is enabled by the aggregation of feeds.
www.blognetnews.com/feedcentral -- For instance, if you are interested in what other local bloggers are saying about some local issue, you can use key words to be notified by email, rss or on your cell phone whenever someone mentions the topic.
