Homeward bound (maybe)

Well, pals, we put in a bid on a new house. This new one is a stand-alone house on a medium-sized corner lot. We were already booked to see it, and then the price got dropped. We saw it tonight. The realtor told us that he had 10 or more viewings over the weekend. We decided to cut to the chase and put in an offer immediately.

I'm excited, but I'm not anxious. Indeed, I'm a little nervous, but I'm not throwing up. Whatever happens here happens.

I'll tell you, we've seen our fair share of dumps. This place was a refreshing change. We'll keep you posted.

oh me oh my! Is this the house on that street next to the church? I don't want to talk specifics over blogs.

No, actually. That place was a total dump. They had redone two rooms and the other six were hideous, drop-ceiling-ed disasters. There was a beautiful arch in the entryway that some asshole sheet-rocked in on only one side. I'm telling you, people are assholes. I said to Scott, I don't want to have to undo total messes. I'm in for updating to current standards, but not for undoing other people's terrible mistakes.

This one is actually between the two cemetaries. It's well-maintained and owned by old people that appreciated the building and didn't do anything stupid outside of covering the place in wall-to-wall for fear of a slip-and-fall. Nothing a "rip up the floor" party can't fix!

We haven't heard back yet. I'm excited but not sick with the worry.
